You may be in this boat and not even realize it, which is why it is called the silent killer. Or maybe you know you have an issue and may even be on multiple medications like my father was and would like a natural alternative that doesn’t have all the side effects.
That is where Tikva comes in. Tikva is the most complete formula on the market to naturally help your entire cardiovascular system.
Many of our competitors are shouting from the rooftops about the importance of Nitric Oxide to widen your blood vessels through either Arginine or Beets. They make it seem like Nitric Oxide is all that is needed. (Note we have both of those nutrients in the Tikva product)
Nitric Oxide is important, it is not enough on its own, because it is not fully solving the problem.
For some people, nitric oxide will lower their numbers for a while, but if they don’t solve the problems of hardening of arteries, inflammation and plaque, they are fighting a losing battle.
As shown in the chart above, not only does the amount of Nitric Oxide your body produces decrease, your heart also faces increased risk from a number of sources, like plaque buildup hardening of arteries and inflammation. Our competitors would have you believe that increasing nitric oxide is the only step necessary in lowering your blood pressure, but Nitric Oxide only supports vasodilation (widening of arteries).
They picked up most of their clothes and toys and overall, the room looks fine. Can’t be too mad at them for the effort.
But then you notice stuff shoved under the bed, and that they didn’t dust, vacuum, or make their bed. Do you say good enough and move on, or do you make them finish the job?
This is what it’s like when you take supplements for high blood pressure that are mainly focused on nitric oxide (widening your arteries). They will seem to work because for a period of time, your blood pressure numbers will go down, but it is not addressing other issues like plaque, hardening of your arteries, and inflammation that in the long run lead to heart attacks and strokes.
Nitric oxide is crucial in order for your inner arterial wall to function properly. Nitric oxide allows arteries the elasticity to expand and contract, and is vital to maintaining the structural integrity of your inner artery’s wall. Unfortunately, as you get older, the levels of nitric oxide in your body decrease – increasing your risk for heart attack or stroke.
L- Arginine, Beet Root, Pomegranate, L-Citrulline, Magnesium, L-Carnitine, Vitamin C, L-Proline, L-Taurine, L-Theanine, Inositol, Coenzyme Q-10, and Alpha Lipoic Acid
Coronary artery disease (CAD), also referred to as coronary heart disease or ischemic heart disease, is the most common type of heart disease in the United States. CAD is caused when bad LDL cholesterol, called plaque, builds up in your artery’s walls – making the space within thinner and making it more difficult to supply blood to your heart and other organs. When blood flow to the heart is blocked, it can cause angina (chest pain) or a heart attack.
Arginine, Beet Root, Pomegranate, Flax Seed Powder, L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Inositol, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Chromium, Zinc, and Boron
HDL (good) cholesterol absorbs cholesterol and carries it back to the liver. The liver then removes it from the body. High levels of HDL cholesterol have been shown to lower your risk for heart disease and stroke.
Arginine, Beet Root, Coenzyme Q-10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin B5, and Chromium
High levels of glucose in your blood can cause a lot of damage to tissues and organs, including organs that are vital in maintaining healthy blood pressure. For example, damage to the blood vessels and kidneys can cause blood pressure to rise.
Vitamin D, Chromium, L-Carnitine, Coenzyme Q-10, Magnesium, and no added sugars
Homocysteine, an amino acid produced when proteins are broken down, can damage your arteries and lead to blood clots when levels are too high. This condition is also referred to as hyperhomocysteinemia.
Vitamins B12, B6 and B2, zinc, and trimethylglycine (Betaine)
High levels of C-reactive protein in your blood for a long period of time could indicate you are suffering from chronic inflammation across your body, doing damage to every cell. This also increases the likelihood of heart attack and stroke.
Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Magnesium, and L-theanine
Triglycerides are fats that come from the food we eat. We carry these fats in our blood. High levels of triglycerides known as hypertriglyceridemia, can be dangerous to your health. If your triglycerides and LDL (bad) cholesterol are high, but your HDL (good) is low, you have an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
Flax Seed Powder, L-Theanine, Niacin and Vitamin D. We highly recommend a high quality fish oil to help with Triglycerides like Vectomega. We would have put fish oil in the Tikva but it would go rancid and make the Tikva taste terrible.
EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA have many positive effects and are vital for every stage of life for optimal function. Good levels may help prevent issues with your heart and circulatory system’s function such as inflammation, peripheral artery disease, major coronary events, and coagulation.
Tikva has Flax Seed Powder which helps produce EPA/DHA but not
enough on its own. We highly recommend a high quality fish oil like Vectomega. We chose not to put fish oil in Tikva to ensure its quality is fresh and that it tastes great.
Several studies exist linking low testosterone in men with an increased risk for heart attack and stroke. Many of these studies show imbalances of these hormones can promote the buildup of plaque on your arterial wall, known as atherosclerosis – which subsequently causes heart attacks and strokes. Testosterone is intimately involved in the removal of cholesterol from the arterial wall by HDL (good) cholesterol. Excess estrogen is linked with higher levels of C-reactive protein and a higher likelihood for blood clots to form in arteries, also causing a sudden heart attack or stroke.
Vitamin D3, Zinc, Pomegranate, Magnesium, Selenium, and Boron
In addition to the emotional discomfort we feel when faced with a stressful situation, our bodies react to stress by releasing hormones (adrenaline and cortisol) into the blood. These hormones prepare the body for the “fight or flight” response by making the heart beat faster and constricting blood vessels to get more blood to the core of the body instead of the extremities. Constriction of blood vessels and increase in heart rate does raise blood pressure.
L-Theanine, Vitamin B Complex (Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, Inositol)
An arrhythmia is an irregular rhythm in your heart’s beat. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a form of arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat, in which the atria (the two small upper chambers of the heart) tremble instead of efficiently beating. People with AF have abnormalities in their heart’s electrical impulses that can cause blood to be pumped improperly, resulting in pooling or clotting. If a blood clot travels to the brain, AF can lead to stroke. AF is also associated with increased risk of congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease).
Magnesium, Coenzyme Q-10, L-Taurine and L-Carnitine
Venous thromboembolism (VTE), also known as blood clots, is a disorder that includes deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the lower leg, thigh, or pelvis. A pulmonary embolism (PE) occurs when a clot breaks loose and travels through the bloodstream to the lungs.
